Mechanical Engineer

Carlos is a Mechanical Engineer with experience designing HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for a diverse range of commercial projects. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from University of Arkansas and joined Benchmark Group shortly thereafter, where he has contributed to a variety of retail, restaurant, office, civic, and mixed-use developments.

Throughout his career, Carlos has developed expertise in mechanical system design, multidisciplinary coordination, and construction support. His experience includes performing heat load, ventilation, gas, grease, water supply, and drainage calculations, evaluating HVAC and plumbing equipment, resolving construction issues, and mentoring new designers. He has worked on projects ranging from national retail remodels and restaurants to fitness centers, healthcare facilities, office headquarters, municipal buildings, and tenant improvement projects.

In his current role, Carlos provides HVAC and plumbing system design, supporting calculations, equipment analysis, RFI resolution, and field observations to ensure design accuracy throughout construction. His attention to detail and collaborative approach help deliver practical, efficient solutions that meet both Client goals and project requirements.
